Bridge System Engineer (BrSE)
As a Bridge System Engineer, you will serve as the key liaison between Japanese clients and the offshore development team.
Requirement Management
- Receive, analyze, and clarify requirements from Japanese clients, mainly related to system maintenance, enhancements, and new feature development.
- Communicate directly with clients in Japanese via meetings, chats, and emails to clarify requirements, scope, and expected outcomes.
- Create and maintain requirement documents, specifications, design documents, and Q&A materials, and communicate them clearly to the development team.
- Monitor daily progress, quality, and task status, and provide regular reports to clients.
- Proactively identify risks and issues and propose appropriate solutions to both clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with Developers and QA members to analyze business requirements and propose technical solutions that fit the existing system.
- Support the review of deliverables, including design documents, source code, and test results, to ensure they meet customer requirements.
Project Coordination / Delivery Management
- Coordinate activities among clients, Development teams, QA teams, and other stakeholders.
- Manage change requests, assess impacts, and control project timelines.
- Ensure on-time delivery, product quality, and smooth communication among all parties.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of offshore team operations.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Strong Japanese communication skills (equivalent to JLPT N2 or above), with the ability to work directly with Japanese customers.
- Experience working as a BrSE or in a similar role within offshore software development projects.
- Solid understanding of web systems and software development fundamentals, including:
- HTTP/HTTPS and Client-Server architecture
- RESTful APIs
- Web servers (Nginx, Apache)
- Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
- Basic Linux knowledge
- Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and Waterfall.
- Ability to read, understand, and review source code and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with technologies currently used in the project:
Backend: PHP (Laravel); Perl; Python
Frontend: ReactJS; VueJS

- Experience working with large-scale systems and long-term maintenance projects.
- Ability to review code and investigate bugs.
- Experience working with Japanese customers in onsite or offshore environments.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents in English.
